Briana Renee Lucy is a 26-year-old young woman with dreams of being a developer and having an influence within the gaming community. Like many others, she set out to make 2020 the year of manifesting her goals; having moved into her first apartment, working a full-time job, and being a part-time student. However, like many others, Briana has also experienced hardship due to the pandemic which cost her full-time employment and health insurance. Despite it all, Briana stayed optimistic and persevered through her challenges. Briana took the time to study harder and to focused her energy in the things she's passionate for and in the people she loves.
During the 2nd half of 2020, Briana had been experiencing back pains of increasing intensity. On January 10, 2021, when the pain was at its worst, she went to the hospital for what doctors initially diagnosed as gallstones passing through her liver. However, after multiple blood tests, MRI scans, and a biopsy of her colon and liver, it was discovered that her condition was far worse than they first understood. Sunday January 17, 2021, Briana was diagnosed with colon cancer, which was later confirm as stage 4 colon cancer. Briana now must go through aggressive chemotherapy to treat the diagnosis and slow the advancement. She went in for her first round of chemo Wednesday January 20, 2021 and she is due for her next round two weeks from that day. This GoFundMe is to raise money to cover Briana’s chemotherapy treatments. Out ultimate goal is to the lessen the stress of medical expenses due to Briana not having insurance so that she can focus on her fight for her health and recovery.
