This mornings my husband and I were moving our car for street cleaning. Our beloved dog, Azul, was hanging out the window, watching us, as she always does from our attic apartment. All of a sudden we heard a fall followed by a dog crying in pain. We turn to look to discover that our little baby had fallen out of the window and was impaled on our front gate hanging from her thigh. My husband tried to help her down but Azul was in so much pain that she bit him. Eventually, some nearby neighbors came by to help us bring her down.

We instantly rushed Azul to the closest emergency room we could find. Brighton Park Animal Hospital(Clinic) told us they could help us with confidence. After being in their waiting room for almost an hour they came out to present us a bill and informed us that they could not do anything. They told us we couldn’t get our dog back until we paid them $240. We were anxious to get her to the next ER so we paid them. When we went to go get her back her wound wasn’t even cleaned and she was still in excruciating pain. Their response was, “At least you know your dog’s leg is broken.”

We rushed her to the next clinic where they wouldn’t see her until we paid in full. We finally found MedVet Chicago on California and Elston. They treated Azul with so much care. Without even checking her in they rushed her in and began shaving her leg and X-Raying her. They were transparent with the procedures and were very communicative throughout the whole process. We felt like they really cared for animals.

We are asking for your help to cover Azul’s medical expenses. My husband and I are having a baby this month and can’t afford Azul’s surgery. Azul is only 2 years old and thanks to MedVet Chicago, we are expecting a full recovery. Azul is very silly, loving, and protective. Azul is family. Anything you can give will mean the world to us.
