It's hard to find the words to write this story. It was only a short time ago that my cousin's cancer journey began. Amy Naatjes went into the hospital with hip pain only to find out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The cancer had eaten away her hip and spread throughout her body. Her husband, Alan, and her son, Tyler, have been at her side throughout this entire journey, as have many of her dear friends and family members. We were told 6 months to a year, and everything changed so quickly. At only 44 years old, she is coming to the end of her life. Pancreatic cancer stole her time, but as she told me while she held my hand saying goodbye this week, "We had our time, and we had the best time."
Amy faced an unbelievable loss when her 22-year-old daughter, Raina, died of an asthma attack only 3 years ago. Now, the family again has medical bills and funeral expenses that place a large burden on them when we hope their focus can be on holding each other up and healing. Please consider donating to help cover the funeral costs as well as the medical and hospice bills.
Please pray for Amy and all who love her. There has never been another person like her. The world will be dimmer without the light she brings.
