I am grieved to share with you all that on Saturday, January 18, 2025, my mother, Amy, departed from this earth to join our heavenly Father. This event was extremely unexpected and sudden.

Amy was born in Loma Linda, CA, on March 29, 1977. Her life was anything but normal. She served as a Correctional Officer for the California Department of Corrections and an LVN. A lot could be said about her complex time here on earth, but more can be said of her kindness and warmth.

My mom was a woman of boundless love and devotion. For her, her children were everything. Growing up, she gave me the warmth and reassurance every child needs to feel secure. Her life wasn’t easy, but she always made time for us.

She was the kind of person you could call or text at 2 a.m. when life felt overwhelming. From heartbreaks to career challenges, relationship advice, anxiety, and even financial worries, she always had the right words—or simply a listening ear when no words were needed.

A few years ago, when I faced financial struggles for the first time as an adult, my mom welcomed me back into the home I grew up in with open arms. She didn’t just give me a place to stay—she made me feel that being back was a gift for her, too. That first night, as I fell asleep to the sound of a windstorm, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude: “I’m so lucky to have a home to come back to.”

My mother devoted her life to what mattered most, and that was spending time with her children and husband. She is survived by her husband David, and her children Emma, Daisy, Hannah, and Zachary. She joins her mother Bea in her forever home.

Many do not expect to depart at 47 years old, which meant that no legal documents or finances were put in place. Her service date will be in the coming days/weeks.
