Courtney is a dedicated single mother who has faced a tremendous amount of setbacks in the past few months. An unexpected layoff from her job, a medical emergency requiring a week-long hospital stay, and the sudden death of a family member has placed her under a significant financial strain. While working hard to keep her family afloat under great mental, emotional, and financial stress, her car began having trouble. Her vehicle is currently inoperable and repairs have been quoted at $1000.

Courtney relies on her vehicle to search for stable employment, to juggle many medical appointments, to attend meetings for the PTA at her son's school, of which she is sitting treasurer, and to safely transport him to his extracurricular activities. The expense of repairs has been an enormous setback to Courtney and her family while trying to get back on their feet after immense trauma. Additionally, Courtney's young son has complex medical needs. With Minnesota winter right around the corner, exposure to extreme cold would compromise her son's health.
