Help Courtney LaCroix Rebuild After Accident

Donation protected
My name is Courtney LaCroix. I was recently in a very traumatic car accident. I was headed home from working a 14-hour shift. Three minutes from home, a lady ran a stop sign, spun my SUV around, and flipped me six times before stopping upside down. After being pinned inside and finally being pulled out of the vehicle, I was immediately transported to Rapides Trauma Center. This was my first car accident in 32 years, and I pray it was the last. All this is new to me. I had a concussion for six days. I was required by doctor's orders to be out of work. This is the first time I've not been to work in several years. Having the time to recover is nice, and being able to cherish moments with my kids has been a blessing. After all, mom guilt is the worst, and other than my usual two days off a week from work, it's like I never have time with them. I tried returning to work after a week, and my body physically and my mind mentally were unable to handle it. It took everything in me to have to turn in the FMLA papers from work to be off for the next 3-6 weeks due to my injuries.

My vehicle was completely totaled. They did pay me for property damages, which was enough to get me a $5,000 vehicle because I have to have means of transportation to get to and from physical therapy, the kids to school, and most importantly, to get back and forth to work once I'm released. As mentioned, this is the first time I haven't been able to work, and it's catching up with me. I was 12 days late paying rent. Thankfully, my landlord was understanding and worked with me, but not being able to work, I have not been able to pay Cleco or my water bill. I can't afford to put the minimum insurance on my vehicle. I have overdrawn my bank account for the first time in years to provide groceries for my three boys. I have had to take out a payday loan, which I won't be able to pay back on time. I have begged my doctor to release me to return to work so that I can start getting a check again in the next couple of weeks, but he is not comfortable doing so just yet.

I am a very quiet person who takes care of my kids and household needs and bills on my own. I know it is hard times for everyone. I have pride, and having to create this GoFundMe has literally broken that pride in me.
