My name is Courtney, and I’m in recovery. That alone is something I never thought I’d be able to say with pride—but today, I can.
Not long ago, my life looked very different. Addiction took away my stability, my sense of direction, and at times my hope. Recovery didn’t come easily. It took surrender, humility, and a willingness to rebuild my life one day at a time. I’ve put in the work, stayed sober, and surrounded myself with people who believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself.
Today, I work at a treatment center—helping others who are exactly where I once was. I show up every day with empathy, lived experience, and a deep understanding that recovery is possible. This job isn’t just work for me; it’s purpose. It’s my way of giving back and breaking the cycle.
Right now, I’m trying to raise money to get a reliable car. Transportation is one of the biggest barriers I face. Having my own vehicle would mean consistency, independence, and the ability to fully show up for my job and the people who rely on me. It would also be another major step forward in building a stable, self-sufficient life in recovery.
If you’re able to donate, please know that you’re not just helping me buy a car—you’re supporting a second chance, a recovery journey, and someone who is committed to helping others find hope. And if you can’t donate, sharing or sending encouragement means more than you know.
Thank you for believing in recovery. Thank you for believing in me. 18 months clean and I’m very proud of who I have become.
