Hello everybody, on Thursday March 27th, 2025, we got 4.71 inches of rain in 5 hours. The forecast for the day called for a maximum of 1 inch and Mother Nature had other plans. We live in a ground home where majority of our house is underground and our main pipe goes out into a lagoon about 100 yards away from the house. It rained so hard and so fast that our lagoon filled up and caused the water to backflow into our main drain and flooded our house with 3+inches of water. Dylan and his coworkers stopped the job they were doing around noon and drove back 20 miles to town and everyone grabbed shop vacs and sucked out over 1500 gallons of water. However, a lot of the damage was done. The water in the drywall had climbed over 8 inches and mold is was beginning to form by the time someone from ServPro came out three days later. Our insurance only covers a minimal amount of water damage due to it being from sewer back up and us being in a non flood zone. Everything that was on the floor was contaminated and every wall has to be cut out ~2 feet from the ground. We lost appliances, furniture, and cabinets and the insurance coverage won't be enough. We havent slept in our own bed for over a week now. So we're reaching out for help. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated.
