Help Courtney battle a Meningioma brain tumor
As Courtney’s long time best friend I wanted to start this because there has been many reaching out wanting to help so I thought this would be the best way to help Courtney & Lucy and post updates.
Courtney had been struggling for a long time cognitively and with headaches/migraines. She just was not feeling like herself and she went to her primary care doctor numerous of times.
July 9th she was rushed to the ER at Good Sam where they did a CT scan and discovered a large brain tumor. She was then airlifted immediately to harbor view in Seattle they then did a MRI to determine it was a large Meningioma tumor between her brain and skull that has mostly likely been growing for years. There were many more tests they needed to do before surgery, including a angiogram 
The day before surgery July 15th, she couldn’t lift her right arm or right leg, and she was clearly having more difficulty with her speech.
July 16th Surgery day. They prepared Courtney and the family letting them know it would be a long 9 hour surgery. If things went well they may be done sooner. Surgery did go well and the doctor felt he removed all the tumor, another MRI was scheduled 72 after to determine that the entire tumor was removed.
Courtney spent 2 weeks in Harborview and 1 week at Swedish recovering with in patient therapy and was able to come home to her parents house to continue out patient therapy. It will be a long road ahead as they discovered her tumor was a grade 2 out of 3 Meningioma. This isn’t bad news but she necessarily isn’t in the clear. This means she will have to have MRI’s three times every year and be monitored closely by her Neurologist to make sure nothing turns into anything harmful.
With courtney not being able to work and being a single mom this is our time to come together and lift her up with support and prayers. All funds will go directly to Courtney to help with medical bills and household bills.
