Help Couple Facing Deportation Relocate to Chile

Donation protected
Paola and Rigoberto moved from Chile to Pittsburgh some time ago and have remained here since, working as a house cleaner and a handyman respectively. While their labor does not determine their value as human beings, it’s important to me to emphasize that they are hard working, kind, and caring people. They have helped my family in more ways than I can count, and I am blessed to know them.

In May, Rigoberto was pulled over on 376. The reason for the stop is unclear, but this traffic stop escalated to ICE being called. Since then, he has been detained at an ICE detention center in Erie. Despite efforts from the wonderful lawyers at Casa San Jose, his case for asylum has been denied. Paola has spent two months worrying, waiting, and fighting for Rigoberto to come home to her. Unfortunately, given the state of the country and the futility of their legal efforts, they have made the difficult decision to end this fight and return to Chile.

While my family is offering financial support for them to get back on their feet when they land in Chile, the cost of relocating and staying afloat is staggering. It would mean the world to Paola, Rigoberto, and my family if you could donate anything at all. The goal I set is somewhat arbitrary—any amount I can pool for them helps immensely. Thank you.
