Hello! I'm hiddenaurora and this is my pretty kitty, Costello! He is diabetic and recently spent the weekend at the ER to monitor DKA, or diabetic ketoacidosis.

He was not getting enough insulin so his body started to break itself down for energy. He has always been a hungry fat cat, weighing around 20lbs but he now weighs 14lbs and lost his interest in food. Because of this, he wasn't eating, drinking, or using the litter. Additionally, he had a UTI, which only added to the issues.

In order to help his condition, he has been administered IV fluids, a blood sugar monitor, and had his levels closely monitored to help determine how much insulin he should be receiving.

As is expected, the bills for an ER visit are quite high and very sudden. We would greatly appreciate any help that can go to Costello's ER visit, whether that's in monetary value or just in sharing his story. Thank you so much!
