Hello, my name is Javed Ali Butt. I’m just a regular guy in my early twenties trying to get better in life. Unfortunately, I grew up with extreme anxiety and depression until I got my boy, Cosmo. He instantly changed my life; he made me feel like life was worth living, like I had a purpose. He’s taught me how to live, love, and be patient in life.
Cosmo is a miniature Australian Shepherd who just turned 4 years old. He was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, and I was able to get him into chemotherapy treatment, also known as the CHOP protocol. For about a year, he was in complete remission until last week. Where we did a FNA cytology of his lymph nodes that unfortunately came back positive for lymphoma.
Being that I'm a vet tech myself I was able to find resources for one of the best boarded certified Oncologist in Long Island through the hospital I work for here in Queen’s, New York. I was able to take him for chemotherapy weekly where at the end of treatments, I spent about $18k, including blood work, X-rays, sedations, ultra sounds and chemotherapy treatment for 6 and a half months. Money comes and goes, but life cannot be replaced my boy can not be replaced. I don’t regret anything as he’s so young, he has high energy, and he’s eating really well. But this time, he’s acting different—more sad, more hiding away, and he has a golf ball-sized lump on the right side of his neck. That’s never been my sweet Cosmo. My boy is the most happy-go-lucky doggo, and seeing him get this way in just a week has once again made me feel like my heart has been torn out.
He’s my family, and he’s all I know. I can’t give up on him. I didn’t the first time, and I can’t this time around either. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to save my boy he’s never given up on me and I won’t on him, Unfortunately it is just not easy, especially living in New York City.

I have also talked to his oncologist and the team where I will be taking him for treatment at “Gold Coast for Veterinary Care” located in Huntington, NY where they are also willing to take any donation and apply it to his bill where I will pay any remaining difference for each chemo visit.
