Help Cosette Heal

Hello everyone!

Ben, Aiden and I would like to start by saying a heartfelt thank you! We are beyond grateful for the thoughts, prayers and contributions that we've received. It's inspiring to know that there are so many kind and beautiful people who have Cosette in their hearts. And, it has absolutely made a difference in getting us to where we are today.

We would like to humbly ask for continued support in Cosette's journey. In order to take care of her like she needs, I have stopped working to be her primary caregiver and stay-at-home mom. While this is the best option for her and for our family at this time, this will also have some additional strain on the household. And, as you know, we are seeking out a lot of alternative therapies to help heal her brain so she can live her life to the fullest. These therapies include hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT), stem cells and red laser therapy, to name a few. Unfortunately, none of these are covered by insurance because they are considered "off label" for her kind of injury. But, all of them have proven to help with her type of injury, which is why we are eager to do them.

Our first goal is to purchase an in-home hyperbaric chamber so Cosette can maintain these treatments when we leave LA. We are already seeing lots of improvement and are only 11 days into her first round of HBOT. (Each round is about 40 "dives.") In that short time, we've seen Cosette cough and swallow more, track things better, respond to things quicker, hold her head up for extended amounts of time and intentionally move more. We don't want to lose that traction, so we will be purchasing a chamber to do rounds of HBOT in NM.

Next, we plan to take her to Arizona to do stem cell treatments and purchase a red laser for red laser therapy. Both of these have shown to improve the quality of life for other children who have suffered non-fatal drowning accidents. Paired with continued hyperbaric oxygen treatments, we expect to see huge improvements in all of Cosette's functions.

This has been an extremely challenging journey for us - emotionally, physically and financially. But, we want the best for Cosette. And, these treatments bring us hope that she can be an active, happy and fulfilled little girl. Any help is tremendously appreciated!
