Help Cory with Cooper's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Just a week ago, our smiling, charming, funny and true friend Cory heard one of the most devastating things a parent will ever hear - “Your child has cancer”.
Cooper is a typical 13 year old, he loves to play tennis with his mom just as much as he likes to play video games with his friends. His typical teenage “growing pains” started to get more severe in the spring and he would run a fever for a day, then be his regular healthy self for weeks at a time. The doctors ruled out the Flu, Covid, Mono, and many other possibilities of what these symptoms meant. When Cooper started to slow down tremendously in his activities, the doctors concluded it was more than they previously examined.
Cooper had many diagnostic tests over the course of June and just a few days ago, Cory was given the news that Cooper has Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and he will have to go through Chemotherapy for 6 months followed by radiation treatments.
The doctors are very encouraging saying there is a 95% survival rate however, this will be a strenuous year in aggressive treatments for Cooper and an exhausting year for Cory. He most likely will not be able to attend school in person due to illness from the treatments as well as being immunocompromised.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers for them in the months and year to come.
Going through this as a single parent, there are additional financial and emotional burdens of enduring this battle. We know Cory would never ask for anything herself, and broadcasting Cooper’s sensitive situation is not in her nature. She has many circles of support and we realized she needed a central place to gather together to do the best good for Cooper’s quality of life for the next year.
We started this Go Fund Me account to give Cory some relief with food, housekeeping, and medical expenses. She will need to continue to be away from her work in order to take care of Cooper full time.
We humbly ask that you also share this link with friends and family.
There are many other ways to help, encouraging words, a walk around the block together, a game of tennis, and there is a MealTrain available, please reach out to be invited.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support of Cooper, Cory and Julia and the rest of their family.
