Cornelius is my brother, and he has always been a caring, fun-loving, and genuine person who brings warmth and creativity to everyone around him. He has a deep love for music and music production, and his artistic spirit shines through in everything he does. For years, Cornelius has struggled with alcohol addiction and depression, challenges that have been compounded by worsening diabetes. Despite these hardships, he has never lost his desire to find purpose and build honest, committed relationships. His dream is to one day start a family and pursue a career that is both meaningful and rewarding.
Recently, Cornelius reached a turning point in his journey. After many attempts to find effective treatment, we discovered Tree House Recovery PDX—a program that offers a unique, holistic approach to addiction recovery. Unlike other programs, Tree House Recovery PDX focuses on strengthening both mind and body through physical exercise, meditation, and building strong bonds of brotherhood. Cornelius has already begun his treatment and, in just a few weeks, we have seen a remarkable transformation. He is showing up for himself every day, and there is a new light in his eyes. Physically, he is healthier and stronger than he has been in years.
While we were fortunate to receive grant support and contribute what we could, there is still a remaining balance for his treatment that we need to cover by 10/31/25. 100% of the funds raised will go directly toward our family’s contribution to the cost of Cornelius’ care.
