Help Corky Smith get Physical Therapy

Donation protected
Corky Smith, a legendary surfer, veteran, and environmental activist in Laguna Beach, requires assistance in covering the expenses associated with his physical therapy. He is currently experiencing discomfort due to three herniated disks in his low back and two herniated disks in his neck. Corky has been a resident of Laguna Beach since the age of eight, except for his time serving in the Navy during the mid-1950s. In the 1960s, Corky played a vital role in the establishment of the Laguna Greenbelt with Jim Dilley. He co-founded The Surfrider Foundation's Laguna Beach chapter and has been a lifelong surfer. In the 1990s, Corky won a lawsuit against the South Coast Water District and the Moulton Niguel Water District for sewer spills at Aliso Creek, resulting in a significant improvement in the ocean water quality in Laguna Beach.

At the age of 87, Corky has spent more than 35 years as an expert guest lecturer at Laguna Beach schools, educating students on natural history and indigenous cultures. He has given presentations at various reputable institutions, including UCLA, Bowers Museum, California State University Fullerton, and Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

Corky has been an essential figure in the Laguna Beach community, and we are fortunate to have him. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be highly appreciated to support Corky in funding his physical therapy. Let us come together and assist this extraordinary man who has contributed so much to our community.
