Corky will soon be 11 years old. He’s a chug—a pug and chihuahua mix—and he’s been my best friend for years. He’s adorable, fun, and so well trained. He never goes potty in the house, doesn’t bark, and has more personality than any dog I’ve ever known. I love him dearly, and I can’t imagine life without him.

Right now, Corky is very sick. He has congestive heart failure and severe fleas, and he’s not doing well at all. I don’t have a car or any money, and I’m scared that if I can’t get him to the vet soon, he won’t have much time left. He needs blood work, x-rays, medication, a flea bath, and flea medication. I also need help with transportation to and from the vet, which is expensive since it’s out of town. On top of that, Corky’s condition means I’m constantly doing laundry, and I’m struggling to keep up with those costs too.

I recently lost my mother, and it’s been a very hard time. I’m grateful to have an apartment, but I don’t have much else. Corky is my family, and I just want to give him a chance to get better.
