NEW GOAL: NEW ROOF!
As many of you know, neighbors came together last year and purchased an enormous tarp that got her through the rainy season. This fall, we hired Shylee Roofing & Construction and they are nothing short of AMAZING. Highly recommend them to anyone who needs a roofer. It's not easy to repair a roof on an "old coach" like Corinne's vintage 1962 Budger, but they are taking good care of it - and her!
Work started on Saturday and by the end of the day tomorrow they will be all done, just in time for any rains that may be coming our way.
It's also not cheap - every bit helps - thank you all!!

Original Post Last Summer:
Hello friends, our sweet neighbor Corinne is recovering from having a unilateral mastectomy on Thursday, Aug 17. She is healing well from the surgery and is staying with a friend at Top o' Topanga until she is well enough to return home and live independently.
Corinne started an oral chemotherapy regimen (pills taken twice daily) on Sunday Sept 10 which will continue for about 18 weeks. She is experiencing nausea, fatigue, and some brain fog from the chemo and from the whole experience.
It's unclear how soon she will be able to return home; when she does, we will set up a meal train for her and share the link here. But in the meanwhile, GoFundMe donations will help with the groceries where she is staying now. It's also unclear when she will be able to return to work but she wants to - we will share updates when she knows more!
One thing that is helping her cope is hearing aids! She recently found out that her insurance will at least partially cover good quality hearing aids. She is trying them out now and it has been helping her hear and understand the information her doctors are giving her about her health and treatment plan. It makes a big difference!
We are starting a fundraiser here to help cover the cost of her expenses, including:
- Hearing aids and other expenses. Her out-of-pocket costs for the hearing aids will be about $900. It will help her peace of mind immensely if we can at least cover that. One of her friends has already generously donated $250 toward the hearing aids so we are partway there!
- Eye exam and new glasses
- Groceries
- Medications
- Pet food, vet visits, and medicine for Corinne's cat, Jasmine (aka Jazzy)
- Home repairs for comfort and safety
- Misc other expenses
Thank you all for being a part of Corinne's community of support!
