Corin Neff, Scott’s daughter’s husband, and Corin’s family are facing a sudden and heartbreaking medical crisis. On October 31, Corin suffered a massive stroke and had to be flown from Torrington, Wyoming, to a hospital in Englewood, Colorado near Denver. Since then, Corin has undergone surgeries to help reduce swelling on the brain and is currently in an induced coma. This has all happened without warning, and the shock has been overwhelming for the family. Corin is only 41, and while loved ones wait and hope, Ellice, currently a teacher at Torrington High School, is carrying the weight of supporting and caring for their three young children while also traveling back and forth between Torrington and Denver to be near Corin. While Ellice is in Denver, the children are staying with their grandparents in Torrington. Before this medical emergency, Corin was the one caring for the children during the day while Ellice taught at the school, so this crisis has deeply disrupted every part of their family’s daily life.
The funds raised will help ease some of the enormous pressure this young family is under by helping with ongoing medical expenses, including Corin’s emergency flight and surgeries, as well as the travel costs Ellice is facing as she moves between home and the hospital. With medical bills continuing into the new year, the need will not end quickly.
