Help Corey's Legal Battle

Hello again friends,

I hate to ask for help from my community but I'm in a difficult situation. Kayla filed for divorce in her home county of Ohio, which is very rural. I don't have the financial or logistic means to represent myself there in court. I didn't have the money before to file in New York, so now unfortunately I have to settle this in Ohio. For that, I need to raise money to afford to hire an attorney. I'm asking for any help from anyone who can spare it to help me raise money to hire a lawyer. Most of the ones I've contacted have retainer fees ranging from $4000 to $6000. I'm struggling to make ends meet in NYC as it is, and I have until June 29th to respond or I'll lose the case in default. I hate asking for help, but I'm in a tough spot and looking for assistance. If anyone would be interested in working on a loan with me instead of donating, I'd be happy to discuss repaying over time instead.

For those who don't know, my wife of 12 years was the breadwinner in our family, especially with the SAG/WGA and now potential IATSE strikes. In November 2023, on the morning of the 10th, she told me she had secretly quit her job 2 weeks prior and was leaving for Ohio. This left me without my diabetic and psychiatric meds for a time until I figured out my own insurance. Now I'm trying to hold together a 2 income household in NYC on my own (lots of credit debt, high rent, self paying for insurance and more) and struggling to make ends meet while processing all of this. I've managed to make it 7 months, but this divorce is more than I can afford. I appreciate any help or shares you can provide.
