Help Corey Return to Costa Rica and Rebuild His Life

INTRODUCTION

Hi, my name is Corey. I’ve spent a lifetime helping others, learning, and pushing through personal adversity to make a positive impact. Now, I’m asking for help not just to get back on my feet, but to put everything I’ve built over the years into action. This campaign isn’t just about me; it’s about creating something meaningful, healing openly, and showing what’s possible when someone gets a second chance.

THE SITUATION

I’m currently stuck in the U.S. due to $30,000 in unpaid back child support. I cannot renew my passport or travel back to Costa Rica, the country where I’ve spent the last few years building relationships, business ideas, and a community-focused life. My dream is to return, finish my clergy training, launch wellness retreats, create mobility and fitness content, and revive the many ventures I’ve laid the groundwork for: skate shops, podcasting, retreats, and storytelling that inspires.

I’m also recovering from serious health issues. I have hernia surgery scheduled for September 12, I’m still waiting for my dentures, and I’m doing physical therapy for my feet. My 56th birthday is on September 15, Costa Rica’s Independence Day, and I was hoping to be there to mark a symbolic new beginning. Right now, that feels impossible.

WHY I’M ASKING FOR HELP

I hate asking for money. But I’ve held back for years. I’ve helped so many people, given away my time and energy, and now it’s time to ask for help, not just for survival, but for the ability to thrive and contribute.

The $30,000 goal will go entirely toward settling the child support arrears. By law, that debt must be cleared before I can obtain my passport and move forward. I’m not a deadbeat dad. I’ve been trying to pay this back for 13 years. Without this, I can’t work abroad, and I can’t put my skills and plans into motion.

I’ve lived frugally. I’ve had great credit. I’ve built and lost businesses. I’ve been falsely jailed, bankrupt, divorced, and dismissed. Yet I’ve also volunteered at CrossFit Games in pain, traveled the world sober, lived and worked in Costa Rica, helped launch a cybersecurity startup, trained others in mobility and healing, and spent years documenting what works.

I have more than 12TB of personal footage and stories from my life, raw, real, and ready to share. I’ve documented nearly everything, and once I’m free to move, I can launch:
