Help Corey Mead Battle Stage IV Cancer

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
The family of Corey Mead has decided to re-boot this campaign in response to some devastating news my father received.
Let’s rewind to May of 2023.. some of you may remember that my Dad was in a serious motorcycle accident in which he sustained life threatening injuries. He was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN where he stayed and recovered for a month. After his hospital stay, it was a month of recovering at a rehabilitation center. Dad got back home and recovered from his injuries which took months- 7 months give or take.
Which now brings me to May 2024.
My Dad went in for a routine 1 year post op procedure to have some screws removed from his pelvis. There was a lump near his injury site, so they sent it to be biopsied. The results came back..
Cancer. A very rare and aggressive cancer.
“Stage IV Metastatic Merkel Cell Carcinoma with profound lymphadenopathy and bulky disease”
Which is just a fancy way of saying that the cancer is widespread and taking up a lot space inside his body.
Dad was scheduled to meet with the Oncology team at Mayo Clinic, but he couldn’t get in until September as he was a “new consult”- even with this extreme diagnosis. Dad couldn’t wait that long and ended up at the ER in June and was admitted for a week. During that week, he had his left side nephrostomy (kidney) bag placed and started his first round of immunotherapy inpatient. Dad stabilized and was released home and continued to follow up at Mayo every 3 weeks for immunotherapy treatment. He went 3 rounds, but we didn’t see significant results.
This cancer is mean.
And it is brutal.
The cancer is so widespread, it is starting to cause damage internally.
Our last hope? Chemotherapy.
Dad started chemo while in the hospital even though it was risky given his current condition. He did 3 rounds and then problems starting arising. He was moved to the ICU due to complications from an ng tube placement. My dad was intubated and sedated for 2 days. After he woke up, they found an array of problems which they started fixing and checking off his “problem list”. My Dad has been hospitalized for 3 weeks now and is still currently admitted and fighting for his life.
He is stable, he is safe, but he is fighting.
Given what our dad has been through the last 2 years, it’s not surprising to hear that his financial reserves are dwindling. We are now asking for help as our Dad continues his battle.
My Dad has 9 children (and multiple grandchildren) spread from Bahrain (yes, overseas) to Washington state. These funds will directly help with travel expenses, gas, food and lodging. They will also help us keep up to date on Dad’s home costs and bills.
In addition to monetary donations, the family would graciously accept any groceries, gas cards or gifts cards.

These can be sent to:
