Hi everybody, this is Corey Davis. As many of you already know this last November I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. In December, I had a successful Colon Resection Surgery to remove the cancerous area. Unfortunately, as many of you already know, during that surgery they found the the cancer had spread to a nearby lymph node which puts my cancer in the category of Stage 3B, requiring 3 months of chemotherapy treatments. Though this is scary news, I am seeking the best help now at Dana Farber Cancer Institute following this diagnosis. Through social work and outreach at Dana Farber, I was advised to start up a GoFundMe site. This fund will help cover the many real-life expenses that come with a cancer diagnosis—things like groceries, gas, medical costs, and other everyday living expenses. Since my surgery and as I move forward with chemotherapy, I’m unable to work and as a self-employed person, will have no income for the foreseeable future. As difficult as it is to ask, any support you’re able to give—no matter the amount— as I face this challenging time, means the world to me and my family, and we are deeply grateful. To those who have already given, thank you! It has been truly a lifeline. Again, I feel so lucky that so many people care and have shown love and concern for me during this time.
