William is asking for support for Corey Clayton, a friend and valued driver at Meiborg Bros who is still in his first year as an OTR truck driver. Corey was headed home when he stopped for the night in Effingham, Illinois, to get some rest before the final push to Rockford. During that stop, Corey was attacked by multiple individuals and beaten so severely that he lost consciousness. Another driver came upon the incident and chased the attackers away, and Corey had to be airlifted to the hospital for emergency care. This terrible act of violence has left Corey facing a long and painful recovery, including reconstructive surgery on his face and surgery to fix a brain bleed.

As Corey begins this difficult road ahead, he will be unable to drive or work while he recovers. The funds raised will help support Corey’s family during this time and assist with the medical bills that come with such serious injuries, hospitalization, and surgeries. Corey is a great driver, a true friend to the company, and a funny, cheerful person whose presence means a lot to the people around him. He will be missed dearly during his convalescence.
