Help Cordel beat cancer

This fundraiser was created on behalf of Cordel Posch. Cordel is one of Fort Davis's own. He went to Fort Davis ISD from kindergarten until he graduated in 2018. I was his 3rd grade teacher. He's always been a smart, hard-working kid, and I understand that hasn't changed. He went to Waco upon graduation and attended TSTC to be a Diesel Tech. Things were going well, but Cordel returned home to Fort Davis to care for his mother. He worked for Caleb Bencomo at Bencomo's Motorport all through high school. When he returned he was hired again at Bencomo's and Caleb can attest to what a valuable employee he is.
Cordel has had a really rough time lately. He's very private and it took a lot of persuasion to get him to agree to let me do this. About 2 weeks ago, Cordel's mother died. In the midst of this sadness, Cordel was having some health issues of his own. After seeing four doctors, he finally got the diagnosis - cancer, more specifically melanoma that has progressed to his lymph nodes. Cordel has a long, tough fight ahead of him, and he has no insurance. After a month of the application process, he was accepted into a program at MD Anderson. He goes for his first meeting with his MD Anderson doctors this first week of March. Much of his treatment will be out patient, so that means many trips to Houston and hotels while there. This will add up in a hurry.
Cordel is not one to ask for anything. He works hard and is responsible for himself, but he needs our help. Please help with as little or as much as you can. Even more importantly, please keep him in your prayers. I don't want him to feel all alone in this. He's one of our kids, Fort Davis. Let's show him how much we care.
