Help Copper get surgery: Every Little Bit Counts
Donation protected
Hey everyone my name is Jeremy and the dog in these pictures is Copper (AKA New Smokey)!! The back story on copper a little bit, I had got copper when he was about 10 months old. He was a very crazy, wild and adventurous dog, later down the road he became one of the best dogs I ever had. The day I laid my eyes on him and got to hold him was the day I knew he would be my best friend and my child! I have trained copper for about 5 years to be my service dog. When I was younger I had a sleep apnea and I still do but it has slowed down ever since I got copper. Copper will be turning 8 in October the 20th and we are hoping he lives to be 100 years old. Even thought he is a little older he still acts like a young pup.
Copper is a very well known dog in Knoxville. Every weekend we go downtown on the strip of Knoxville to take pictures with his fans. He loves to going to the UT games to cheer on the Volunteers! Copper has made many people’s nights and days when they see him. Copper has met a lot of the football placers, basketball players and coaches at UT. We do travel out state to go on adventures and the fans that he gets to see that we haven’t met yet is insane. He’s a very lovable and gentle pup.
Very sad thing happen in the past 2 weeks, Copper recently came down with a disease called IVDD which causes the disc to slipped out of the spine and put pressure on the spinal cord. Which can cause him to be paralyze and lose so much more function. We have had been dealing with this for about two weeks and worked with two hospitals, we had two options to either euthanize or surgery. Since we didn’t want to put him down we decided to do the surgery. The surgery is very expensive we have come up with a GOFUNDME page to raise enough money for him to have the surgery and therapy so he can show up to the cheer on the Volunteers and see all his fans!! With that being said we ask for your help with any amount of donations to help Copper (AKA next Smokey)
