I’m cooper’s cousin

Cooper was born with a heart problem "Truncus"/“Q22”. He will be heaving open heart surgey on the 10th of November which means he will be placed on bypass stopping his heart from beating. He will be 26 days old when he has his surgery. He also has one kidney and a lung problem. 5 % of his lung isn’t working and he will lung will need to be operated on as well. Cooper is also in the nicu as he was born at 36 weeks via emergency C-section after doctors had found out his cord was wrapped around his neck three times.

- Truncus: A rare congenital heart defect where a single artery leaves the heart instead of the normal two (aorta and pulmonary artery. a congenital heart defect where the main artery from the heart remains as a single, common vessel instead

of splitting into the aorta and pulmonary artery. This condition causes oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor blood to mix, leading to symptoms like a bluish skin tone and requiring surgery shortly after birth.

- Q22: genetic chromosomes refers to issues on the long arm of chromosome 22 (22q), most commonly the 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, also known as DiGeorge syndrome. This condition results from a missing segment of DNA on chromosome 22 and can cause a wide range of symptoms including heart defects, immune system problems, and developmental delays. A less common condition, 22q11.2 duplication syndrome, involves an extra piece of genetic material on chromosome 22 and can also lead to developmental and medical issues.

We are fundraising to support the care and therapies cooper will urgently need alongside hospital treatment, including:

* Specialist feeding and medical

* Nutritional and alternative supports to aid healing and recovery

* Long-term rehabilitation programs to give him the best possible chance at independence

* Financial relief for our family, enabling us to focus fully on cooper’s care

the beginning of cooper's long rehabilitation journey. Public services can’t meet the full scope of his needs, and the cost of providing him the best chance at recovery is far greater than we can manage alone.
