On the morning of October 21, my English Setter Cooper got into a bag of mobility supplements and ate more than he should have. By the afternoon, he was vomiting and had severe diarrhea, and I rushed him to the emergency vet. The initial visit included fluids and medication, but his condition quickly worsened. Cooper became critically ill, with pale gums and cold ears, and had to return to the emergency vet late that night. The team worked urgently to stabilize him, but he began vomiting blood and needed a blood transfusion. I stayed by his side through the night, terrified of losing my sweet boy. The vets are still unsure why Cooper reacted so severely, but he remains very sick and is receiving 24/7 emergency care, including oxygen, IV fluids, and pain medication. I haven’t left his side, and every moment is focused on helping him recover.
Cooper has been with me since he was a puppy in 2018, and he means the absolute world to me. He’s not just my companion—he’s a pet therapy volunteer, a friend to everyone at the dog park, and the beloved office dog. His gentle nature and sweet personality have touched so many lives, and his love for food sometimes gets him into trouble. The costs of his emergency care are overwhelming, and I’m asking for help to cover the expenses so I can continue to give Cooper the best chance at recovery. Any support will go directly toward his ongoing treatment and follow-up care.
Thank you for reading Cooper’s story and for considering a donation to help him heal. Your kindness means everything to us during this difficult time.
