Help Cooper (age 15) find freedom from his debilitating pain
Donation protected
From AAA hockey player to losing his ability to walk, this is Coopers fight to regain his bodily freedom.
We will be traveling to Austin, Texas to undergo a weeks worth of treatments which will include Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) infusions; NAD+ IV therapy; broad spectrum CBD IV infusions; BioCharger and possibly Eboo Ozone therapy. Dr. Ofobike is confident that by the end of the week we will know if further treatments will be necessary. Unfortunately, none of these therapies will be covered by insurance. We are humbling asking that anyone who knows Cooper and is able to assist financially, please help us get relief for our Sweet Coop.
In June of 2023, at 13 years old, Cooper's feet started hurting and he cut his workout short. At the time, we did not think much about it. That summer he did not do his normal activities of hanging out with friends, working out or getting extra ice sessions in. In early August, Cooper asked to go see his doctor because he was worried about the pain in his feet and how he would walk at school. We met with his PCP who indicated he believed Cooper was experiencing growing pains. We thought okay, this will pass and until then Cooper would have to suck it up. In October after a weekend of hockey in Detroit we had to take Cooper to the ER because he was experiencing extreme chest pain. This would be the beginning of debilitating full body pain without any answers. Eventually, in December of 2023 Cooper made the tough decision to cut his hockey season short and we began homeschooling. At this point, Coopers pain began affecting his feet, knees, hips, chest, arms and jaw. At this same time, Steven and I would begin carrying Cooper to the bathroom and his bed as he was unable to walk independently.
Since then, we have met with nine different doctors including PCP, neurologists, rheumatologists, cardiologists, podiatrists; physical therapists, and pain management, who after ordering and reviewing x-rays; CT scans; MRI's and every imaginable blood test, all told us the same thing, Cooper is healthy and there is nothing to indicate why he is experiencing this pain. In May 2024, my dear friend Melissa T. in California was adjusting a patient named Dr. Justice, who practices Integrative Medicine, Dr. Justice asked Melissa to connect the two of us. We would meet with Dr. Justice via Zoom, who after reviewing, symptoms and testing, indicated that she believed something was happening on a cellular level. Dr. Justice would begin consulting with Dr. Ofobike in Texas who together believed Cooper would benefit from NAD+ IV Infusions, because both doctors were not in Ohio we attempted to find a doctor in Ohio who could help. This became difficult for several reasons, Cooper's age and our lack of a diagnosis. Therefore, Dr. Justice and Dr. Ofobike suggested an NAD+ nasal spray. Within 24 hours of starting this therapy all of Cooper's symptoms disappeared for two weeks we had our happy and healthy Cooper back. As with many nasal therapies, it stopped becoming effective. We were able to find a local doctor to prescribe a sub q injection, this form of NAD was not as effective. Once again, we felt hopeless. Eventually, a rheumatologist would find an insignificant amount arthritis in Cooper's shoulder and a brain lesion. The rheumatologist would begin Cooper on an arthritis medication that we injected every 14 days. Again, we were so hopeful that Cooper would see relief and be able to resume his normal activities. After four months of this treatment, his doctor felt we needed to try another medication for arthritis. Through modern medicine, we would try five different therapies for what they believed to be the cause of his pains. None of these would provide Cooper any lasting relief. During this time, we also tried cold plunging, red light therapy, and drastically changed Cooper's diet. We connected with Dr. Ofobike again, the only doctor who has been able to provide any relief and leading us to the treatment in Texas.
