Cooper was celebrating his high school football team's victory Friday night, but was badly hurt when the group of kids holding him up in celebration lost a handle on him and he fell to the ground landing on his head and neck. He sustained brain and back injuries, and was admitted to the PICU at HCMC, showing signs of a serious concussion and possible spinal damage.

After a very scary weekend in the ICU, he is improving, but his recovery will be ongoing. His mom, Heather, is facing an unclear timeline of follow-up testing and coordinating with specialists. Along with these duties, she'll need to miss work and dental schooling.
