Hi everyone, for those who know me and my family you may know that I have a cute and adorable chihuahua named Cookie who is 13 years old.

We adopted Cookie from another family 10 years ago and ever since she has been a part of our family. She was always there and is such a sweet, loving cuddly type of dog. She never bites shoes, or socks but occasionally goes through the trash.

Back in September we noticed that her abdomen was distended and swollen. Her usual vet was booked until November so we brought her to a different vet. They ran tests and couldn’t find out what was wrong and diagnosed her with pancreatitis and prescribed her antibiotics and liver supplements. We took her to her usual vet in November and ran a lot of tests but we couldn’t find out what was wrong, she was on a treatment plan for chronic liver/ kidney disease and low fat diet.

Our vet referred us to an internist/specialist. We ended up taking her to the emergency vet and admitted her because we saw how her abdomen was larger and she was breathing hard. They ran a bunch of tests on her and she has been diagnosed with a tumor in her adrenal gland and will require surgery to remove it. She is in critical condition where her adrenal gland has a tumor and is overproducing steroids which makes her liver overly enlarged and causes her to have difficulty breathing and walking. At this point we have spent approximately $8000 on testing, X-rays, ultrasounds, cytologies, etc, and medication, food and the overnight stays at the hospital.

The entirety of funds will be used to cover the costs of her surgery, tests, medicine, hospital stay, aftercare and rehabilitation. The doctor told us that with these types of surgeries the first 72 hours are most critical, then comes the long term healing and rehabilitation

She has brought so much joy and love into our lives and we just want to save her. We would greatly appreciate any help to improve her quality of life.

Thank you so much for any donations, prayers and sharing! ❤️
