We are starting this fundraiser for Cookie, the longest female resident at Escambia County Animal Welfare. She is a sweet, playful girl with great manners who deserves a loving home. One of the biggest reasons she has been passed over is that she has heartworm, and the cost of treatment is more than many adopters can take on.

These funds will go toward Cookie’s heartworm treatment with the veterinarian chosen by her adopter. The cost can range from $1,200 to $3,000 depending on the vet. I truly believe that if we can raise these funds, she will have a much better chance of being adopted quickly.

How will it work? GoFund cannot assign a beneficiary that doesn’t exist yet! Once Cookie has been adopted and assigned a vet, One Best Day will contact the adopter for further information, we will request the treatment quote and will pay the funds directly to the veterinary of the adopters choice.
