Hello,
My name is, John, and I am the lucky owner of, Mr. Henri. Henri and I met back in 2015 when I was still in college. Henri was disowned by his original owner around the age of one, and I was lucky enough to be his "foster" dad while we tried to find him a better home. Well, ten years later, and here we are! I knew instantly that I was going to be his forever owner, and couldn't believe that someone would have surrendered such a sweet, and well mannered pup. I loved everything about him, his snorts, farts, and all of the other unique characteristics that comes with being the owner of a Frenchie.
Little did I know that Henri would end up being my longest commitment to anything in my life up to this point. From graduating college, to moving to a new city where I had no friends of family, career changes, a pandemic, and a marriage - he has been with me every step of the way. I'm really not sure how to explain my connection with him other than him being an extension of myself.
That being said, my sweet angel was just diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor on his left hind leg. I will admit that I was utterly devastating hearing the news from our veterinarian. I spiraled into a black hole of worst case scenarios, and could not come to grips with the reality of the situation. However, I then gathered myself and was prepared to do whatever I could to allow Henri as much quality time on Earth as I possibly could. The good news is, the tumor does not appear to have metastasized into his lymph nodes, or into any vital organs, so the plan is to cut off the tumor, and remove the lymph node in his leg nearest to the tumor.
My call to action to anyone who has made it this far, is to consider donating anything that you possibly can to help pay for his surgical expenses. I am not ignorant to the expenses of life, and understand that we are all on tight budgets. Anything and everything will make a difference, and I will be forever grateful to everyone who chooses to donate. He means the absolute world to me, and I want to do everything in my power to spend as much time as I possibly can on this Earth with him. If, for some reason, we exceed the donation goals, I will contribute any excess funds to a local animal shelter, or to another charitable cause. Thank you all again for your time and efforts.
