Hi everyone!
My name is Halle and I am a sophomore at The University of Colorado Boulder and a member of Medical Global Brigades, CU Boulder chapter. This year I have the incredible opportunity to be a part of the world’s largest student-led global health non-profit organization fueled by students and medical professionals to provide on-site assistance to rural and medically underserved local communities in Panama.
In Panama, we’ll be working alongside licensed medical professionals and local community leaders to provide free sustainable medical clinics, distribute medications, and promote public health education in rural communities that have limited access to healthcare services.
Through this week of volunteering with clinics that provide healthcare via dentistry, physical therapy, prescriptions, and more, Medical Global Brigades hopes to help close the health inequality gap by partnering with local communities who work to decrease limitations in healthcare. These problems in access are often caused by scarce health infrastructure (including lack of health professionals, medicines, and technology),
economic and geographical barriers, and weak intercultural understanding. By extending support to help diminish the adverse impacts of these challenges, Global Brigades hopes to focus on rural areas that may face many or all of these accessibility blocks.
To make this trip possible, I am fundraising to cover travel expenses, medical supplies, and program costs. Every donation — no matter the size — will directly support our efforts to provide essential care and resources to families who need it most.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would also mean so much to me. Your support helps bring us one step closer to making a meaningful impact.
