Help Contribute to Froggy’s Comeback

Donation protected
When I got into Vet Med, I always said that I wouldn’t ever start a GoFundMe. That owners shouldn’t have animals if they can’t pay for them. (Insert foot-in-mouth here) Emergencies happen and *typically and almost always* at the worst times and at the most unexpected times.

If you know me, then you know the battles I’ve gone through with Froggy over the last year. He had his initial Deep Digital Flexor Tendon (DDFT) injury that required surgery to go and clean up the mess it was making and to cut the Annular Ligament to help free up some space for the swollen tendons and all the fluid.

Fast forward through a roller coaster rehab of cleared for 3 months, down for a month, cleared for 3, down for a month, etc***

Froggy just wasn’t completely back to normal. After some digging, we came to the conclusion that his Annular Ligament grew back too tight and has been causing issues with rubbing and squeezing all of the tendons and other ligaments. We decided to do a revision of the Annular Ligament and cut it again, in hopes that’s it would grow back looser with a changed rehab protocol.

TUESDAY is when sutures should’ve come out and rehab should’ve started. Thursday he was ouchie and looked swollen. Resolved that issue. Come today.. he was super sore and hesitant to walk on it.

He’s back at OSU on ER with suspected infection of his tendon sheath, with planned surgery tomorrow to flush the tendon sheath out. This was not news that I was planning on and to say that I’m devastated is an understatement. I’ve spent most of the evening an emotional wreck and trying to figure out what I can do to make sure that I give him the best chance possible to pull through this. Insurance may help cover somethings, but unlikely as this could technically be considered a pre-existing condition.

I will go to unimaginable lengths to give my heart horse the best chance he can possibly have. Whether we ever make it back to the show ring or not, I just want my Frog to come home healthy and happy.

I know this is no one else’s obligation but my own, but any donation, or even just sharing of this post, would mean the absolute world to me. Thank you for sticking with me and making it to this part of the post lol. The $10,000 is the high end of his estimate, but with prior surgery bills still left to pay, I know this sounds like a crazy amount .. because it is lol. I don’t expect to raise anywhere near that, I just wanted to be transparent with costs.

I appreciate every single one of you that contribute to the success of this, one way or another.
