Help Construction of School Facility in Ghana

Hello,

My names Mutulu and I am appealing to raise funds for the construction

of the toilet facilities within a school in Accra, Ghana that is currently in need of building. The school was established in 2017 with humble beginnings in a small village situated in Bortianor. Though it was open for pupils to enrol, the building construction and facilities were still ongoing in development, one of these significantly being the washroom.

Both male and female toilets have not seen completion due to funds, the revenue that is made through the school’s income is necessarily distributed in various ways that are also priority (i.e staff pay, education resources) leaving the toilet facility project back logged. A temporary place for staff and students is used outside of the school building (but within the premises) that only consist of 3 cubicles with no hand wash resources that is to serve some odd 80 students and more than 15 staff. The temporary facility is below the competent lines of hygiene and functionality. There is also safety concern due to its location being outside. During heavy rain, the mud flooring becomes a slip hazard and large puddles are produced, making it at times inaccessible to reach the loo’s.

The finances being made heavily rely from the tuition fees of students which has been seeing a decline of recent years. Government funding does not pertain to this institution leaving a rather tight budget that needs to be applied in circulation of maintenance.

I believe that a standard essential such as having a hygienic, efficient and safe toilet facility, is of no question. Though acknowledgment is needed that something we may take for granted in the Western World, is typically not as attainable in other parts of the hemisphere.
