Help Conrad Through his Wife, Sandy's Terminal Illness
Donation protected
Hello, My name is Paula and I'm raising money to help my brother with medical expenses and unforeseen costs related to a terminal illness in his family. Conrad's wife, Sandy of 25 years was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer about a year ago. She went in to have her adrenal gland removed and they found a tumor on it that contained lung cells. Further testing proved that she had several tumors that had metastasized elsewhere in her body. The doctors put together a treatment plan and got her started on chemo right away. But after several treatments, she decided it was not the quality of life she wanted with what life she had left. This brings us to About 6 weeks ago. Sandy and Conrad made the decision to put her on Hospice. She is home and between myself and the CHANS nurses she is well cared for and comfortable. However, she is preparing to transition any day at this point. We have been so blessed to have this time with her. We will keep you all updated on this as things change for her.
Conrad still has to work to keep their insurance and make money. His paid vacation time has to be saved for when she has transitioned and the aftermath that comes along with it. Even though they have medical insurance, it is just not enough to help him to financially get through this most difficult time in his life. Between unforeseen medical expenses and funeral/burial expenses, there will be residual debt related to this situation. Not to mention the heartache he will be facing, the struggle to figure out a new way of doing things without the love of his life. His company has been so gracious to collect money for him along the way, which has been so helpful! However, the expenses will begin to pop up sooner rather than later. Going from a family tragedy to a financial struggles at his age would be too much for one soul to bear. Which is the whole reason I started this GoFundMe. The funds from this will help Conrad cover any residual debt related to this sorrowful event in his life. It will also relieve a great deal of stress for Conrad. We all know it's difficult enough to lose a loved one that not only have you been married to for 25 years but together for 35. So this is why I started this page, to help ease my brothers worries during this most difficult time in his life.
We aren't sure exactly what amount he will need at this point, but we feel strongly that $20,000 should cover whatever is out there and will be needed. If you have read this far, know that you're appreciated for taking the time to read this story. If you find it in your heart to donate to this cause we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. No amount is too small and every little bit helps. There will be an accounting of the funds as they are dispersed. Any consideration you give this is appreciated! So thank you in advance!
