Hey y'all,
It's Connor Mattice.
So far throughout high school, I have been doing FBLA. FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. It's basically just a business club. Next year, my junior year (11th grade), I will be president of it due to my hard work in the club. The past two years, I have done many events (competitions) and the two I was best at were Financial Math and Job Interview. For Job Interview, I was 4th in the state, but due to the Mock Trial State Championship (we got 2nd in the state there), I couldn't make it to the final round and had to give up my spot. For Financial Math, however, I was top 3 in the state twice in a row. This year, being top 3 in Financial Math earned me a bid to FBLA nationals in Anaheim, California. I really would love to go and take a shot at getting top 3 in the nation, as this would allow me to have necessary national recognition as a sophomore to make it into a top-tier college such as an Ivy League. To get into one of these, some sort of high national recognition is almost completely necessary.
However, due to high flight and hotel prices, this trip will cost about $1500. Therefore, I have created this page and ask you if there is any donation that you would be willing to give to help me pay for this trip so I can shoot my shot.
Here's a breakdown of the expenses:
The trip will be from June 29th - July 3 (6 days, 5 nights)
Flight Cost: $600 (there and back, into LA)
Flight to Tally afterwards: $200
Rental Car for 6 days (split between all 3 of us going): $180
Hotel Cost (split between me and my roommate, the chaperone has to pay for their own): $600
FBLA Competition fees: $320
Food: $250
Total: ~$2000
Any donation is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Connor Mattice
