Time is a TICKING, Medical Expenses for The WOOTEN Family

Connie and Travis got married October of 2015.  They knew they wanted children, but Connie Brighton-Wooten had a couple of issues prior to her even having any dreams that she could convey to anyone, about being a Mommy.  Why do I say that? Connie got diabetes at 14 months old, before she could barely say a full sentence. The doctors told us (her parents) back in January of 1986 that she would probably never see the age of two. But, after consistent monitoring and attempting to keep her on this planet she eventually saw the age of two.  Then things got much better she only had really bad seizures about once a month.  Ambulances were too many to count and so were the comas.  We were told so many times that she would never wake-up but again we made it through that gauntlet.  After 5 years old we were told when she becomes an adult, she should not have children.  We thought that in time medical advancement would solve that problem.  Now 35 years later (hence, why the time is a ticking) her doctors have told her that her diabetes has taken its toll.

At the beginning of their relationship, Travis was working as an EMT while going to school to be a Paramedic.  He was doing quite well but at the beginning of their relationship his pain had just begun;  his best friend, his confidant, his Dad just lost his battle with cancer.  Travis was not in the mood to meet anyone new but somehow by the Grace of God he met Connie.  He was struggling to say the least.

Travis applied at BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and after two years of applications and interviews he received his acceptance letter.  Connie was working and going to school to be a 911 Dispatcher.  Connie received her acceptance letter from AMR (American Medical Response).  They both were up and coming within their perspective careers, even though they both had a two-hour commute going and obviously a two-hour commute coming home.

Warp ahead to 2020 they (Travis & Connie) kept attempting to bring a new “Lil” Wooten into this world and after 3 miscarriages things began to look bleak.  The doctors told Connie she needed to lose weight so she set out to do just that and after losing 95 pounds they thought now would be the time.  After that final visit to the doctors, she was told “NO” you need to understand your diabetes has taken a toll.  Again, “You should NOT get pregnant.”

Connie then started feeling funny and would just drop to the floor.  She tried covering it up for a while, thinking that maybe it would just stop.  Then it started happening when Travis was around.  They went to the neurologist and they found nothing.  Then one day she was on the job taking a 911 call and she just drew a blank and could not ascertain what to do.  Luckily, her co-worker stepped in. She was crying so hard to think someone could have died on her watch, she could barely pull it together.  Her supervisor told her to go home.  She started for home and she called me, her Mom to come and pick her up, she could not remember how to get home.  She was so upset she could hardly talk.  She went to the doctors again and they could not find anything wrong, once again. At this point you can ascertain both Connie and Travis are not only hard working but have had more than their fair share of challenges and gauntlets to overcome. They then began looking into other options they came across IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) only to find out surrogacy costs can reach or exceed $70,000, which is not covered under insurance.

If you have gotten this far, we would like to thank you for taking your valuable time to read this and if you are able to donate then please know that you will be making a massive difference in their lives as they have done, for so many.

Bottom line they NEED YOUR HELP NOW!!!  We know this is a hefty ask but every dollar counts, even if it is only $5.00 and here is where we start thinking maybe like... fishes and loaves, anything is possible and anything you can contribute to this goal would be greatly appreciated.  Yes, and all the PRAYERS you can muster, as well.  These kids need your HELP.  PLEASE!!!
