Connie is a former green card holder fighting to regain her legal status. At the age of eight, she arrived in the United States as a refugee from Cambodia. Connie has now lived in the United States for nearly 40 years with her family and, more recently, with her beloved husband, Jerry.
Connie is courageous, deeply self-aware, and curious. She is especially known for her colorful butterfly artwork, her steadfast faith in God, and her care and compassion for others.
Connie is also resilient. In September 2024, ICE detained Connie at a routine check-in. Since then, she has courageously fought her immigration case while remaining detained, a battle which has now lasted nearly two years. Connie's case is before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, where she awaits a decision that will determine her future.
In ICE detention, Connie faces daily challenges and uncertainty. Your donation will help her pay for personal care and hygiene products, better food, and phone calls so she can stay connected with the people she loves. These necessities give her comfort, dignity, and the strength to continue fighting her immigration case. When Connie's case is over, win or lose, any money that is left will help her rebuild her life after years of unjust detention. Let's show Connie that she is not alone, no matter what happens.
