I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother, Conner, 29, who urgently needs back surgery. He has been suffering from a herniated disk in his lower back, which is pinching a nerve and causing excruciating pain. The pain is so intense that he cannot walk for more than 30 seconds, sit, lay down, or sleep. He’s been surviving on just 1-2 hours of sleep each night, broken into short, restless increments.

His condition has deteriorated so quickly that doctors have pushed to get him into surgery sooner. This procedure is not optional—it’s essential to relieve his pain, restore his mobility, and allow him to be present for his family. Thankfully, his surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th.

Why We Need Your Help

The total cost of the surgery is expected to be over $10,000, and that’s after insurance. Some expenses, like anesthesia, are still being finalized, but we know that Conner will need to pay over $1,000 per month for the next year—a huge financial burden for his family. The reason we are asking for $15k is to make sure this covers the total cost of his portion, along with lost wages while he recovers.

Conner, along with his girlfriend Maddy, is a key provider for their family, which includes three children—one of whom is just nine months old. Instead of being the active and loving dad he wants to be, he spends his days laying upside down on the couch just to find a moment of relief. He’s missing out on precious time with his baby girl during these crucial early months, and it’s heartbreaking.

Doctors have told him he needs at least three weeks of recovery, but because of financial strain, he’s already planning to return to desk work after just one week—even if he’s still in pain. We want to ease that burden and allow him to heal properly.
