Help Local Nonprofit Leaders in Eastern Africa

Ever found yourself on vacation in a foreign country and had to feed 60 people for a few days?

If you know me… your first thought is, “What has Elaine done now?” I can honestly say, it’s not me, God’s got a vision and he’s letting me come along.

We were just planning a vacation… you know, booking safari’s, planning dinners in the bush, visits to Victoria Falls and the like. 10 years of savings and lots of bucket list moments… the plans are set and reservations made…The vacation is not what this Go Fund Me is about…

This is where is started to get fun, God started putting people together, I started inviting them for dinner… then lunch the next day… I thought God was just using my networking and facilitating skills to get a half a dozen people together.

We have an expert on cross cultural communication, raising up new nonprofits in Rwanda, a man with a passion to bring clean water to Kenya and help nonprofits develop locally run, sustainable funding resources, we have an educator who is lifting up new nonprofit leaders in Zimbabwe and the founder or an orphanage who is looking for ways to communicate with partners and struggling with resources. Each persons needs seemed met by one of the other local leaders.

But people kept coming…It has turned into a full conference with important networking and breakout sessions. There are around 60 nonprofit leaders from all around Eastern Africa coming.

This is where I need support… while my budget included all the fun for our trip, it never occurred to me to budget for a conference center, Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner… for the rooms overnight for our facilitators from other African countries and perhaps the flight for our Ugandan orphanage director. The price is just over $5000 for those items and I could use your help.

It's amazing what our simple yes on vacation has turned into and God has planted a giant grin on my face as more and more people reach out, some filling an exact need and some voicing a need that is already filled by this group. Please pray and help me with this surprise conference.
