Help Conan Rebuild After Losing His Home in an Accident
Donation protected
On Saturday, 12/7/24, 26-year-old Conan Storm was driving down Peger Road when his Jeep, his only home, rolled multiple times after a near-miss with oncoming traffic. Despite suffering from bruised ribs and shoulder injuries, Conan survived the terrifying crash. Thanks to the swift actions of Good Samaritans, he was quickly rescued from the wreckage.
Conan’s Jeep was more than just a vehicle—it was his lifeline. Wheelchair-bound due to Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD Type 2A), Conan has been living in his Jeep while waiting for accessible housing. Conan is on the waiting list for services and ranks 478th in the Coordinated Entry Housing Assessment by the Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness.
Tragically, the crash left him homeless, with all his belongings, including his wheelchair, severely damaged.
Conan’s story is one of resilience and faith. Diagnosed at age 9, he has faced numerous challenges, including growing up in the foster care system and losing his father in 2013. He came to Fairbanks recently to be closer to family, including his Grandma and Uncles, but unfortunately, they live in homes that are not wheelchair accessible.
Despite these hardships, he remains hopeful, saying, “God gave me my disability because I am strong and I have the will and I want to show this story to the people around me and to inspire others.”
Now Conan needs your help to rebuild. We’re raising $3,000 to help him recover:
• $2,000 for his car insurance deductible to repair or replace his Jeep.
• $1,000 for gas, essential items, and replacing or fixing belongings damaged in the crash.
Conan has always relied on his will and strength, but no one should face this alone. Your donation will provide him with the means to regain stability and continue his journey toward accessible housing and independence.
Let’s show Conan he’s not alone. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Thank you for your kindness and support!
Sarah Dubowski-Hollister, a witness to the accident, has organized this fundraiser on behalf of Conan Storm with his permission. All funds will be used to pay his insurance deductible and replace his wheelchair or items broken in the wreck. Any additional funds raised will be given to Conan to assist in finding accessible housing.
