Help Complete Magic Chai in Calexico

Hello, I'm Angel Esparza, I’ve been working on opening my business in Calexico, it’s costing more than I anticipated but I don’t want to give up.

What is Magic Chai?

“I created Magic Chai because I feel that there needs to be a space for people that love to learn, create and collaborate.

During the pandemic, I focused on developing my own chai and other beverages that can help you focus or relax.

Our beverages will be plant based and sweetened with low glycemic sweeteners like agave and maple, so it’s accessible to everyone in our community.

The space will feature an ambiance that encourages curiosity, collaboration and mindfulness.”

Why do you need donations?

“After I was clear with the vision, I got the whole process started with the permits, working with the architect, the health department, buying equipment etc. The money started to add up and ended up costing more than I anticipated.

I applied for grants, and loans, talking to people to see if they wanted to invest. I wasn’t able to get the funds so that’s when the idea came. "What if I reach out to the community?" I thought, If "1,000 donate $20 I will be able to complete it."

Why did you decide to do this in Calexico?

“Although I was encouraged to open up in other cities, I feel that it has to be here in Calexico. I believe we all have this feeling that Calexico has potential, that it can be more than it currently is, and this is my way of contributing.

So yes, if 1,000 people donate $20 I will be able to complete Magic Chai.
