An Invitation to Change Lives and Make History
Hi, my name is Kellee Morris, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my dear friend and coach, Adetayo “DIWIZAD” Adebowale. This isn’t just about making a film; it’s about defying the odds, honoring a legacy, and proving that African stories belong on the global stage.
A Mother’s Legacy, A Filmmaker’s Fight
Adetayo was raised by a single mother who built Superlady Studios from nothing but a camera, passion, and an unbreakable will. She didn’t just take photos; she gave people a way to see themselves, to be remembered. She poured everything into her dream while raising her son alone, showing him what resilience looked like.
When she passed, Adetayo made a promise to carry on her legacy, to tell stories that matter, and to build something that his own daughter could be proud of.
A Filmmaker Against All Odds: Making films in Nigeria is nearly impossible. There’s no funding, no safety net, no studio backing. Independent filmmakers like Adetayo have to fight for every frame, every scene, every story they bring to life. And yet, despite every challenge, he has done just that.
His work speaks for itself:
✔ Not Just Pretty, But Pretty Powerful – A documentary, supported by UNESCO, that empowers young girls to break barriers and claim their future.
✔ Urban Hustle – A British Council-backed film that captures the daily struggles of street vendors and roadside workers in Lagos.
✔ Now, Colony Red—a groundbreaking African sci-fi film that blends cyberpunk with African futurism, telling a story of resistance, power, and survival.
Beyond Filmmaking – A Gift to Help Others: Adetayo isn’t just a filmmaker. He’s a life coach, tarot and psychic reader, using his gift to bring clarity and direction to those in need. He does it because helping people is part of who he is.
He’s also a certified AWS cloud architect and founder of Clomora Cloud, helping entrepreneurs build their businesses in the digital space. Everything he does, whether through film, technology, or intuition, is about empowering others.
Why We Need Your Help: Colony Red has been shot. The vision is there. But without the funds to complete post-production, VFX, sound design, and color grading, this film may never reach the world.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
Every dollar you give goes directly into bringing Colony Red to life. Funds will cover:
Post-production equipment – Computers and essential tools to finalize the film.
Festival submissions – Entry fees to get Colony Red onto international screens.
Travel costs – Ensuring Adetayo can represent the film at key festivals.
Marketing and media campaigns – Spreading the word to reach the widest audience possible.
Adetayo has given so much to others. This is our chance to give back and help him achieve his dream.
Why This Fundraiser Matters
Independent filmmaking in Nigeria is a battle few win. Adetayo has poured his soul into telling powerful stories, from advocating for young girls to capturing the reality of everyday workers. He has sacrificed everything to make Colony Red a reality—but right now, it’s stuck in post-production, unable to move forward without support.
This fundraiser isn’t just about one film. It’s about proving that African filmmakers can break through. It’s about showing that independent creators can tell stories on a global stage.
Who Is Supporting This Campaign?
Most of our donors are friends, family, and members of our community, people whose lives Adetayo has personally touched. Many have received his guidance and support, and now they are coming together to support him in return.
We are spreading the word through:
Personal conversations and word of mouth
Text messages and community sharing
Online outreach to like-minded creatives and supporters
Even if you don’t know Adetayo personally, you can be part of this movement.
We need your support to finish what we started.
Join the Movement: This is bigger than a film. This is a revolution in African storytelling. Every dollar counts. Every share helps. Every act of support brings Colony Red one step closer to reality.
If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, please share. Let’s show the world that independent filmmakers can break through. Let’s prove that African sci-fi belongs on the global stage.
Together, we can make history.
With gratitude,
Kellee Morris
