Help Comet get the medical help he needs

Hi, my name is Karen and I am trying to help my friend whose gorgeous dog, Comet, has to have urgent medical treatment. He is only 1 year old (today 03.10.24) so not the way he was supposed to spend his birthday!

Comet was out on a morning walk and somehow managed to get 2 conker-shell thorns in his eye. He was taken to an emergency vet and he was referred to a specialist vet who confirmed he had to have surgery to help remove them, but without further specialist treatment to test the eye and carry out additional treatment to help save the eye, he may need to have his eye removed.

As you can imagine, this beautiful boy has insurance but it only covers up to £1500. The total bill is over £2000 which must be (and has been) paid in advance before anything is done and the additional treatment could cost between £2000 - £4000 which must also be paid in advance as no payment plan is allowed due to the specialst surgery needed and she cant raise the funds alone.

So please help me to help Comet get the specialist medical assistance he needs and help his human, Trish, to keep him in the best possible health, so difficult decisions don't need to be made.
