The students of the Comedy course "A Brief History of TV Comedy" at Ithaca College, taught by Professor Chrissy Guest, have a unique opportunity each spring to travel to Jamestown, NY—the hometown of Lucille Ball. This annual trip allows students to immerse themselves in the world of television and film comedy by visiting the National Comedy Center and the Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz museum. These experiences bring their classroom learning to life, offering hands-on engagement with the history and cultural impact of comedy.
However, the cost per student for this trip, which covers museum entries and the rental of a charter bus, can be a barrier for some. For certain students, this expense can prevent them from participating in the course and enjoying this enriching experience. We want to ensure that every student who wishes to attend has the chance to do so, regardless of their financial situation.
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering the travel and admission costs for the trip. By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping to open doors for 54 students, giving them access to two incredible non-profit institutions dedicated to preserving comedy history. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on their education and passion for comedy. Thank you for considering a donation to help these students experience the joy and inspiration of comedy history firsthand.
