Help Combat Louisiana Wildfires, Organized by Wes Daniel
Donation protected
Hi… my name is Wes Daniel, and I am currently a Life Scout with Troop 5 of the Norwela Council in Shreveport, Louisiana.
I am reaching out to inform you about an important fundraising initiative that I am undertaking with Troop 5. Our goal is to raise funds for the purchase and construction of high-powered LED light kits and electrical cord extensions, which we intend to donate to the state of Louisiana. This project aims to aid in the combat of wildfires affecting both public and private forest lands.
As part of my Eagle Scout project, we plan to purchase and construct four high-powered LED light kits with electrical cord extensions for each firefighting bulldozer (two lights at the front and two at the back). This enhancement will significantly improve visibility during nighttime firefighting operations, particularly in dense timber and woodland areas. Louisiana has a number of bulldozers specifically designated for firefighting, and our objective is to equip as many as possible.
The bulldozers play a crucial role in creating wide fire lines by clearing brush, timber, and flammable vegetation ahead of advancing wildfires. The installation of these LED light kits will greatly enhance illumination in the area, thereby improving safety for ground crews and operational effectiveness for the bulldozers.
Our mission is to provide this advanced lighting capability throughout Louisiana to gain a tactical advantage in combating wildfires during the night and in low-visibility conditions. The installation of the LED kits and electrical cord extensions will be carried out by Louisiana state wildland firefighters in collaboration with the Department of Forestry.
I sincerely appreciate your consideration of a donation to support my Eagle Scout project.
Respectfully,
Wes Daniel
