Help Colton in his Fight Against PANDAS

Donation protected
Hey everyone,
My name is Leah, I'm a long time friend of Annie's. I am starting this GoFundMe in hopes of raising awareness and funds to help Annie and her son Colton. I would like to give you a brief summary of what this family has been through. Annie is a single mother to two wonderful kiddos, Millie(6) and Colton(9). The last couple of years have been some of the most challenging for them. When Colton's behaviors and personality made an extreme change, seemingly over night, Annie had to find answers to what was going on with her son. After being misdiagnosed for too long, Colton was eventually properly diagnosed with PANDAS back in 2022. This was amid many other life-changing challenges that had been throw their way that year. They spent many months trying different approaches to beat this thing that had stolen her child from her. Being denied time after time by insurance to get Colton the IVIG treatments that would effectively defeat his PANDAS, Annie kept pushing forward to find any alternatives available to them. In October of 2023 she found a trial out of Colorado that was ready to take on Colton's severe case. At this point he was dealing with OCD, tics, anxiety, regressed learning, mood swings/uncontrollable tantrums, and struggling with social acceptance at school. This trial was answer to prayer. He started immediately and was able to receive 3 rounds of treatment over that next 3 months, with his final treatment being on Christmas Eve. When the trial was over they were seeing the positive changes in Colton. He wasn't having melt downs, his hyper-activity had mellowed, his OCD seemed to disappear, his teachers were reporting how much better he seemed. His labs were ALMOST back to normal/healthy range. The treatments were working, but the trial was over. His improvements lasted about 3 months before she started noticing his OCD was re-appearing, followed by the rest of his old behaviors. To her disappointment, the labs confirmed that his numbers were shooting back up and he had relapsed.
If Colton doesn't get treated, these symptoms can permanently attach to him. He will carry this with him through life and it will affect his future, his career, his family life. Unfortunately without approval from insurance, these treatments run anywhere from $15,000-$35,000 PER treatment and he will need several.
We have the answer to get his numbers back to normal and give him a chance at a normal life. The IVIG is what he needs; what his body will respond to. Annie has a faith like no other. Her trust in Him has gotten her through many trials and I know she believes He will get their family through this one too. Anything you can do to help this family is so greatly appreciated and it will all go towards getting Colton back to healthy. Thank you all for caring and for the support and prayers!
