Help Colonia Juárez Rebuild After the Flood
The small community of Colonia Juárez in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico has just been devastated by a catastrophic flood. Families have lost their homes, their possessions. Many lost everything but the clothes on their backs. It is a true tragedy, and heartbreaking to witness.
These funds will not be handled by the government. Instead, a local committee will oversee distribution to ensure the money goes directly to those in need. Some families will have to completely rebuild, others will need to repair damaged homes, replace vehicles. Many simply need basic necessities to get through the coming days.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
This is a call to everyone who has ever lived in, visited, or had any connection to Colonia Juárez and to anyone else who feels moved to help. Together we can provide comfort, relief, and hope to those who have lost so much.
There is a committee in place that will be in charge of the fund dispersal. Lester Johnson is head of the committee. There are 180 households affected by the flood. As you can imagine, some homes are a total loss, some are partial. Needs will be assessed by a committee and funds distributed accordingly.
